七夕 (Tanabata)

A Japanese star festival, hosted to celebrate the meeting of the two deities, Orihime and Hikoboshi.

It is said, that the milkyway itself sperates the two lovers, and once a year, thousands of magpies come together, making a bridge for them both, so that they can spend one night, together.

One tradition of Tanabata, is too write wishes and hang them on bamboo (wish trees) these wishes are often burned, or set floating on rivers around midnight the next day.
